Distorted display after crash dump

My Packard Bell SB85 EasyNote crashed while my son was playing Dragon Age by EA. He unfortunately held down the power-on button during the crash dump forcing the computer to switch off before the dump was complete. On switching on now the screen is divided into four identical horizontal strips with random speckled colours. Attaching an external flat screen is a bit clearer but the bottom half of the screen is divided into vertical black and white patterned bands. The computer refused to boot and the windows repair facility did not work and neither did the packard bell recovery disks. Pressing F11 during switch on activated the Packard Bell recovery properly but despite this the screen is the same and it will not boot giving an error stating that a boot device is not accessible. It was running Vista Home Premium on an Intel Core 2 Duo at 1.5GHz with a 2Gb ram. Does this mean that the Nvidia graphics card is cooked? Is this fixable or do I trash the computer. I tried running it with my spare cloned drive but that made no difference.

Looking for a filter

OK, here is what I need: a program where I can select what kind of content on a site or a game is blocked, and when that filter softwareis set off, that the screen it gives you wont say something like "This website has been blocked" "Blocked by parental control" etc. It should look like the page was unable to load. Additionally, the program should be able to start up on its own, and secretly. In a nutshell, I want a completly secret filter. Thanks much!
OS: Win Vista

ProWeather Sidebar Widget - the Best.

There are plenty of weather widgets for Vista's Sidebar, but few are as comprehensive as the aptly name Proweather.

Set it to your home town (be it in the UK or anywhere else in the world), and the widget will display the current weather conditions.
... Give the widget a click with your mouse, and a whole host of extra information is displayed.
...... Everything from wind speed, pressure, UV index and the chance of rain is covered.

You also get a graphical forecast for the next 10 days, complete with expected temperatures and whether or not the sun will be shining.

Proweather even has something for star-gazers, showing what state the moon will be in each night.

There are loads more features, so download it and give it a whirl. It's FREE, so what do you have to lose?

http://tinyurl.com/633494
