Product recovery CD

• Insert the product recovery CDROM into the drive and restart the unit
• Press F12 to open the bootup menu and select the CD-ROM (using the up and down keys) and then Enter
• Press any key when prompt to boot from the CD
• Allow the Windows® installation program to begin
• Select the appropriate option from the recovery menu:
  1. Press Enter to set up a new Windows® installation
  2. Pressing R to start a repair an existing installation, this will open the Recovery Console
• For a new installation select 1 then F8 for the licensing agreement
• Select the partition you wish to install Windows® onto. If a previous installation is detected press Esc to continue.
  • To remove and recreate the partition for a fresh installation, select the partition and then press D, then Enter and finally L to remove the existing partition. To create a new partition, select the Unpartitioned space and press C and choose the size then Enter
• Press Enter to select the new partition and choose the quick NTFS option and start the format by pressing Enter
• The installation will now format the drive and copy the files needed for Windows® 
• The PC will restart when this is completed. Follow the onscreen prompts for the next installation process.

Drivers and Utiltiy DVD

• Insert the Drivers and Utility DVD into the drive while Windows® is running and allow the DVD to autorun Note: At this point the DVD may automatically start the install of DirectX 9.0b, follow the onscreen wizard to complete and the PC will restart.
• From the onscreen Helpdesk menu you can select:
  • Documentation Driver - this will install Adobe Acrobat Reader 6 and place the documentation for the hardware in the PC into C:\Online documentation
  • Driver installation - this will list available drivers for the system. Click Install to start (this process may take a few minutes) and the PC will restart when finished
  • Additional software - here you can select additional software for the system. Norman Antivirus, WinDVD and various ISP software can be installed. Put a tick next to the software you desire and click Install
  • Internet links - lists the various Fujitsu Siemens internet support sites. Select and then click Run to open.
