• Turn on the notebook and press the F12 key when the Fujitsu logo is displayed to start the Boot menu
• When the boot menu is displayed insert the CD labeled Fujitsu Siemens Product Recovery CD ROM
• Select CD ROM from the list and press the Enter key
• Press any key to start the unit from the CD
• The notebook will now  load the files it needs from the CD ROM and a blue setup screen will be displayed
• Press Enter to start setting up Windows XP
• Place a check in the box to accept the end user license and click Next
• To choose a partition, use the cursor keys (select the partition labeled C:) and press Enter
• Press C to continue
• Choose to format in NTFS, a quick format in NTFS, or to leave the current partition intact
• Confirm this by pressing Enter
• Press F to continue.
• The HDD will be formatted
• All the files required will now be copied to the hard drive of the unit
• Place a check in the box to accept the end user license and click Next
• The Windows® instalation will continue
• Enter your name and organisation (if you have one) and click Next
• Enter a computer name for the unit and click Next
• The Windows® instalation will continue
• A display settings windows will now be displayed, click OK, if you can read the display click OK
• The user can now run through the final Windows® XP setup wizard
• When the Windows® installation has completed insert the Drivers & Utilities CD
• Select the button DeskUpdate at the Drivers & Utilities Browser
• Click Automatic driver installation (Express)
• Follow the on screen instructions.
